Network Agencies & Programs
These agencies and programs receive funding from the Mental Health & Recovery Board to provide services to Portage County residents. Residents seek services at the agency locations. They pay what they can afford based on a sliding fee scale or have Medicaid or insurance. The Board shares in the cost.
Coleman Professional Services
Coleman Professional Services is a nationally-recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs for individuals and families and of wellness, employment and data services for businesses. Coleman services include:
- Mental health and rehabilitation services, including psychiatry, community support and case management
- 24/7 crisis help and access to outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services
- Vocational and employment services to individuals and companies
- Housing for the disabled and assistance in apartment planning and support.

Children’s Advantage
The agency offers behavioral healthcare services that are child-centered, family-focused and community-based exclusively for children, adolescents and families. The services include
- Individual, family and group counseling
- Child & adolescent psychiatry
- Community support program which school links parents/guardians with other services in the community to meet the child or adolescent’s behavioral healthcare needs
- Early childhood and community-based consultation/prevention services
- Childhood Trauma Clinic.

Townhall II
Townhall II promotes the health, wellness and recovery of individuals and communities through prevention, education, advocacy, intervention and treatment. For the MRHB, the agency provides the
- HELPLINE, a 24-hour crisis service; suicide prevention
- Prevention education especially for youth at risk of addicrion
- Outpatient chemical dependency treatment
- Sexual assault counseling
- Horizon House, a halfway house for women in recovery
- Coordination of the county suicide prevention coalition and the county crisis response network

Counseling Services of Family and Community Services, Inc. receives funds from the Mental Health & Recovery Board to work with families struggling to overcome domestic violence.

NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots organization for people with mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has affiliates in every state and in more than 1,100 local communities across the country. There has been a Portage County chapter since 1989.
NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life for persons of all ages who are affected by mental illnesses. Family-to-Family Education Program
The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Over 115,000 family members have graduated from this national program.

BRIDGES
BRIDGES is the acronym for Building Recovery of Individual Dreams and Goals Through Education and Support. It is a peer-to-peer education and support group program for adults. There is no fee to participate and it is open to all people with a diagnosis of mental illness.
Peer-to-peer means the education course and support groups are led by persons with mental illness who have received special training in BRIDGES.
The program has two components. It provides a 10-week education course followed by a support group with trained teachers and facilitators.
