What is Suicide Prevention Coalition of Portage County?
The Portage County Suicide Prevention Coalition’s mission is to prevent suicide by increasing awareness, education and partnering with the community.
The Portage County Suicide Prevention Coalition was established in 2003. The coalition includes members from juvenile court, county coroner, law enforcement, mental health, education, health and the community. The Coalition’s goal is to increase awareness of suicide as a mental health issue, reduce stigma and increase family support. Any person is welcome to join the effort.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, and are free and open to the public. Meetings are held at the Mental Health & Recovery Board located at 155 E. Main Street, Kent. For information call 330-673-1756.
The Coalition will not meet in December 2022. Next meeting will be January 19th at 3pm.
