Elaine Harlin Joins Mental Health & Recovery Board

The Mental Health & Recovery Board welcomed Mogadore resident Elaine Harlin as a new Board member at the March meeting. Ms. Harlin brings 35 years of behavioral healthcare experience and in leadership as she retired in 2016 as President and CEO of Child Guidance & Family Solutions in Akron.
In 2003 she successfully ushered the merger of Family Solutions and Child Guidance Centers. Over her 10 years as President and CEO, innovative and collaborative programming has been developed. Most notably, the Toddlers and Preschoolers Succeeding which reduces the incidents of pre-schoolers being “expelled” from pre-school; the first “FIRST” program collaboration through NEOMED in Ohio for early identification and treatment of psychotic illness; healthcare integration initiatives with pediatricians to address physical and behavioral healthcare needs of children and adolescents.
“Since retiring from the Mental Health field, I want to give back to the Portage County community by serving an organization that helps improve the lives of their citizens,” Harlin stated.
Harlin also enjoys training to become a Portage County Master Gardner Volunteer, and traveling with her husband and family.
