Jared Hostetler, Aurora resident, was sworn in as the newest member of the Mental Health & Recovery Board at the September meeting. Jared has a military background as he served as a Missile Maintenance Officer, leading Airmen to keep the Minuteman III weapons system on nuclear alert. He also brings a wealth of experience in project management and leadership training to the Board.
In reflecting on his new role, Jared shared:
“I applied to the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Directors to bring a business and growth mindset to the board, and because I want to serve at a local level in as many ways as possible. I believe I bring a very unique perspective to nonprofit management, and I want to help the MHRB manage budgets, look for ways to cut costs, and help identify ways for supported agencies to work together. As a veteran, I am very aware of the unique mental health needs of our veteran community that are often underserved.”
The Board looks forward to the leadership and unique perspective Jared will contribute as it continues working to strengthen mental health and recovery services across Portage County.
